Hazardous and death-defying stunts

Great willpower, no fear of death, lifelong experience, practise and unimaginable amounts of courage. These are only a few factors of those you need to do, what Nikolas “Nik” Wallenda does.

Nik Wallenda was born in 1979, and he is seventh-generation member of “The Flying Wallendas” family. He started his career, when he was only 13 years old. People first really noticed him, when he was around 20 years old, because he participated in the world’s first seven-person high-wire pyramid with his family. Later – in 2005, he formed his own troupe. Since then he has done plenty of death-defying stunts, such as driving a bicycle over a tightrope, walking 610 m on a tightrope and on November 2, 2014 he claimed two new world records. One for walking the steepest tightrope between two buildings, and the other for the highest tightrope walk while blindfolded.
Many people think to themselves, while they are watching his incredible performances: “Why does he conduct such stunts?” Nik Wallenda’s answer is surprisingly very simple. A passport agent asked him this question: “What is the purpose of your trip, sir?” Wallenda replied: “To inspire people around the world, to follow their dreams and never give up. He said this, as he fulfilled the walk across Niagara Falls on June 15, 2012. Suddenly, Nik Wallenda became a world-famous daredevil.
Another great mystery to some people may be how he got the nerves, to do it. It is sort of split into two parts.
Every single walk for Nik Wallenda, is an expression of honour to his great-grandfather, Karl Wallenda. Karl Wallenda was the man, who brought the Wallendas to America; however, when he was 73 years old, he fell down a tightrope in Puerto Rico and died. Nik Wallenda walked the same distance many years later, also to honour Karl Wallenda.
Nik Wallenda is not afraid of dying, because he believes that God gives him the strength, to do the stunts, e.g. when he crossed Niagara Falls, he slowly inched his way to the end of the tightrope, praying and praising Jesus Christ, as he went. He knows, that if he dies, he will arrive at a much better place – Heaven.
